I look ravishing

in this morning frost air

bike wind

tossing hair

away from my moist face

Strands catch

in my mouth

I spit and splurt

unbalancing a woolly body

veering me into wing mirrors

Pedalling up hill

with might,

dragging my tongue

behind me.

I am not of this road

but as natural as an elephant

twirling in a tutu

with pink handlebars

in a clammy grip

in this fresh gust

of flushed cheeks

and chaos

I look ravishing
